One of the best views of your life!
Ready for an awesome experience? This tour is an exciting adventure to the crater of Volcano Ilamatepec, a true scenic gem. With a height of 2384 meters above sea level, the Santa Ana volcano, best known as the Ilamatepec, is the highest and most voluminous of the coastal range of the volcano region. It is also the third highest point in El Salvador.
Its geological history dates back to about 2 million years, with irregular eruptions, such is the case Llamatepec demonstrated its strength in 2005, with an eruption that destroyed vegetation, villages and crops. The road to the crater is narrow and has an average degree of difficulty. During the tour, you’ll find a number of break points such as “lookouts” made of wood, from which you can admire the beauty of the natural landscape surrounding the resort Lakes and Volcanoes. Arriving at the periphery of the crater, the winds are strong and you will be shrouded in clouds. From there you can see the emerald green lake inside the volcano. Also, have the chance to see a beautiful panorama of Lake Coatepeque, Volcano Izalco, Cerro Verde and Pacific Ocean. The view is simply stunning!
