The tour of the city and channel will show the most important places in the city of Panama and the Panama Canal Zone. Participants will have the opportunity to visit Panama La Vieja located northeast of downtown Panama City. This city was founded by Pedrarias Davila in August 1519, is the oldest Spanish settlement on the Pacific. You will visit the Old Town landmarks such as the Plaza de Bolivar, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the Bolivar Palace, the National Theatre and "Ride The Vaults" which has one of the most spectacular views of Panama city. The tour also includes a visit to the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal to see the daily operations of the waterway.
As part of this wonderful tour, participants will visit the "Causeway", a group of three islands linked to the mainland by a breakwater Panama Canal. The U.S. Army use this area for the defense of the Panama Canal because of its strategic location. Today the Causeway has become one of the most exquisite fashion centers of the Americas, international restaurants, bars, shopping areas and the new Cruise Terminal Flamenco.
